Aston Martin DB12, 2023 - present
For more than a century, Aston Martin has never had a more famous model in its line-up than the iconic DB model. The GT-Class sports car has been in production for 75 years and has seen its ups and downs, from its role in the James Bond film series to its struggle for survival when the British carmaker faced serious financial difficulties. The new DB12 is presented as a historically important model, but at the same time modern and adapted to luxury and impressive dynamics. The Aston Martin DB12 has a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine that produces 680 hp (500 kW) and 800 Nm of torque. The M177 engine is of course a Mercedes-AMG product, but unfortunately the impressive Aston Martin-developed 5.2-liter twelve-cylinder engine of the previous DB11 model is no longer offered. The power of the new DB12 engine has been increased thanks to an optimized compression ratio, larger turbochargers and improved cooling. The Aston Martin DB12 accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.6 seconds and has a top speed of 325 km/h. Impressive dynamics were achieved by significantly reducing weight and inertia. Let's say the new 21-inch forged alloy wheels have been designed so that the total weight of the rims has been reduced by a full 7.7 kg compared to the previous model's smaller 20-inch wheels. The weight in the wheel area of the car is further reduced thanks to the carbon fiber brakes, which reduced the DB12's weight by as much as 27 kg. At the same time, the braking efficiency has been increased, which is not lost even when the temperature of the brakes rises to the highest level.
