Mercedes-Benz SL Class, 1990 - 2002
The Mercedes-Benz SL Convertible has been manufactured since 1954. SL is encrypted as “Sporto Leicht” which means “Sporty light” in Lithuanian. 1990 saw the introduction of the new generation R129, which was built on a shortened Mercedes-Benz W124 platform and had many innovative solutions at the time - electronically controlled suspension hardness, automatic pop-up protection behind the rear seats (in the event of a rollover), a new modern rear multi-link suspension, row standard safety equipment (side airbags, etc.), e. windows, mirrors, seats and hood. Although the SL is too heavy to be a real sports car, it handles it perfectly. For most owners, this car is a true status symbol and can’t help but smile on the owner’s face. AMG versions were also produced, one of which is the rare SL73 AMG with the most powerful V12 engine the SL has ever had. The same 7.3 L V12 engines were later used in the Pagani Zonda supercar.
