The Vento is basically a Golf version of the station wagon / sedan body. In North America, this car was made under the name Jetta. Although visually similar to the 2nd generation Jetta model, the Vento has become a softer shape with an air resistance factor of only 0.32. The car has become much safer and also more environmentally friendly - plastics can be recycled and reused, air conditioning systems do not use harmful substances, and paint is free of heavy metals. Vento was one of VW’s rescuers in the U.S. market, where VW has been having a hard time lately. Critics have generally praised the Vento for the car’s reliable on-road behavior, comfort and practicality. Other reviewers noted that the car, while attractive, is a bit too expensive to choose from in the compact car class, in addition to the rather stiff seats and cramped rear seat.
