The history of Caterham is closely linked to Lotus, as the well-known Caterham 7 model was born at Lotus in 1957. Later, production of this model was halted in 1973, but due to its high popularity, Graham Nearn repurchased the car's production rights from Colin Chapman and founded a company called Caterham.
