Honda ZR-V, 2022 - present
Japanese manufacturers traditionally lag behind their competitors in making important decisions, but when they do, they move at full speed. Honda has long delayed the introduction of crossovers and so far we have only had two on the European market. Now the third is introduced - the Honda ZR-V, which is positioned between the smaller HR-V and larger CR-V models. The company says the car will have "the same DNA as the Civic e:HEV," so the ZR-V could be said to be a crossover version of the popular hatchback. As a result, Honda tried to make the ZR-V not look too similar to the Honda Civic. At the front, the new crossover has a relatively small radiator grille and elongated LED lights, a style different from that used in the Civic or the new CR-V models. The rear part of the car is fully rounded, which stands out except for its conservatism. Since the wheelbase of the Honda ZR-V is shorter than that of the related hatchback, but the cabin is much higher, the Honda crossover should be comfortable in city conditions, and there will be enough space for passengers because the seating position of people is more vertical. The front passengers are separated by a tall central console, which has a large storage compartment inside. The front panel of the Honda ZR-V is almost identical to that of the Honda Civic model, with air intakes hidden behind a honeycomb grille, a high-mounted nine-inch touchscreen, as well as dial-controlled heating and ventilation and sound system volume. Depending on the trim level, a 10.2-inch screen can be installed in front of the driver. The trunk capacity of the crossover is 380 liters with the seats raised - 20 percent. larger than the smaller Honda HR-V crossover, and when the second row of seats are folded down, the trunk increases to 1,291 liters. This is approximately 70 liters more than the Honda Civic's maximum volume. Unfortunately, the ZR-V is not expected to be produced with an electric motor only. The car uses the Civic e:HEV powertrain only with different settings, consisting of a 2.0 L gasoline engine and 2 electric motors. The total power of the hybrid system reaches as much as 329 hp. Thanks to this power plant, the car reaches a speed of 100 km per hour in 7.8 seconds.
