The Alhambra was created in collaboration between the Ford and Volkswagen groups, resulting in three cars - the Ford Galaxy, the VW Sharan and the Seat Alhambra. These three cars share most of their components. The single-seater Seat Alhambra seats up to seven people, and the rear 5 seats can be configured in a variety of ways, including being removed leaving a flat floor for luggage. In 2000, the Alhambra was heavily renovated. The car has acquired a new front panel, which is typical of Seat models, a new instrument panel. The car's wheelbase has been extended by 6 mm, higher-quality materials are used inside, and new engines are hidden under the hood.
