The Captiva is based on the GM Theta platform, which is also used by the Opel Antara. It combines the style and practicality of a mid-size sedan. The Captiva is a unique model that combines the features of two cars, specially designed for the modern European family. It is packed with standard safety equipment that includes ABS, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), front seat belt pretensioners, driver and front passenger airbags. In safety tests according to Euro NCAP, Captiva received a four-star rating (out of five possible) in the event of a frontal collision. An option with a four-wheel drive system is available, which works electronically in conjunction with other systems - ABS, ECS and increases active safety. The all-wheel drive system only intervenes when there is a need, which is usually a front-wheel drive car.
