In 2010, Lotus introduced an updated Elise model. The new Elise has a carefully updated look and aerodynamics that further enhance the legendary car’s handling characteristics. A new front bumper was created, as well as a radiator grille reminiscent of a smile. The rear bumper now also has a new diffuser, and the hood has expressive air intakes. The Elise S base model received a new 1.6-liter Valvematic Toyota engine instead of the 1.8-liter engine, which develops 136 hp. So the upgraded Elise meets the Euro 5 emissions standard, consumes 23 percent less fuel and emits 13 percent less CO2. The Elise R and SC versions have an old 1.8-liter Toyota engine.
