This car has not been very popular anyway, but it is one of the few that has directly influenced the history of motoring. The first-generation MX-5 (encrypted: Mazda eXperimental project number 5) sold 400,000 units. The following tasks were built during the development of the car: 1. The car must be as light as possible 2. Two adults must be inside 3. The front engine must be mounted behind the front axle so that the weight distribution is 50:50 4. All-wheel suspension must be either independent of two crossbars or multi-link for maximum road holding 5. Driven wheels must be rear. This gave birth to a small 940 kg, as simple as a two-kopeck car with a 1.6 DOHC 120 hp rear-wheel drive, dual-wishbone suspension, excellent weight balance and impeccable neutral cornering, and controlled, fun rear-axle slip and the price is affordable for everyone. In fact, it has everything a sports car needs. The car was perfectly manageable like no other, just felt - without electric windows, air conditioning, even power steering - the driver merged with him while driving this car. This is the feeling that can only be felt by a rider in contact with a horse. It’s a really living car. And people adored him. It became a cult, the most popular convertible in the entire history of motoring (thus making it into the Guinness Book of Records). Everyone could have a sports car! The MX-5 has received over 150 awards worldwide, making it one of the ten best sports cars of all time. It is for this car that we should be grateful for the performance of cars such as the BMW Z3, Porsche Boxster, Mercedes-Benz SLK, Fiat Barchetta and Rover MG.
