Porsche 924, 1976 - 1988

Porsche 924 - a two-door, 2 + 2 coupe was the first mass-produced Porsche model with a water-cooled, front-mounted engine (the first of its kind was the Porsche 928). For Porsche, this was an unusual configuration, although for many other manufacturers it was commonplace. 924 was originally a VW project called Scirocco, developed by Porsche under contract. The 924 was well-managed, but criticized for the weak VW engine it used.
