With its aerodynamic, snug shapes, the Legend immediately became the 2004 Japanese Car of the Year. This is the fourth time in the last 5 years that a Honda car has been chosen as the car of the year! The body of this car uses carbon fiber and the highest quality steel, and the engine uses aluminum and magnesium parts. The new car has a 300 hp (221 kW) engine (100 km / h in 7.5 s) and a myriad of the latest technologies. The newly designed 3.5 L V6 has been changed from a 90-degree layout to a V-shape with a 60-degree layout and VTEC technology has been added - for the first time to the Legend car. The Honda flagship also has a “smart” all-wheel drive called the SH-AWD, which earned Mosuto the 2005 RJC Technology Award. In the car, sportiness is combined with luxurious driving comfort. The Legend has a host of safety-enhancing equipment, such as a smart night vision system with automatic pedestrian recognition technology. This system recognizes the human silhouette, marks it on the windshield and gives a warning beep. A roadside assistance system (LKAS) is available, which can make minor steering adjustments when driving in large radius (more than 220 meters) turns to keep the car on the right track. The engine hood, which automatically raises within 10 cm, is designed to minimize personal injury in the event of a pedestrian collision. For the same safety, car wipers are designed to deform easily. The car is truly modern and is a true flagship of technology, comfort and luxury in the Honda model range.
