Launched in 1993, the Vauxhall / Opel Omega was a brand new car with a modern, attractive design and a traditional rear-wheel drive assembly. The Omega range included sedan and station wagon bodies. The car has a spacious interior, a large trunk, but is inferior to competitors in the quality of interior materials. Omega production ceased in 2004 and no successor was proposed. Likewise, Scorpio and rivals Ford gave up their flagship. Decisions were influenced by declining demand for this class of cars.
