The BMW 3 Series is a compact luxury car with sedan, hatchback, coupe, station wagon and convertible bodies and rear-wheel drive. The E46 model is a true evolution of the E36. Many of the body lines and silhouette remained the same as in the E36, only slightly rounded, taking on a more aerodynamic shape which was very popular at the time. Both the headlights and rear-view mirrors remained similar. In the interior, similarly remained seats, but the instrument panel, center console is a copy of the E38 and E39 (7 and 5 series) models.
